Countries like the USA need to realize that success comes with a price as well as a responsibilty and dodging both will only earn them raised brows.Back here in India, their strategies and advances are being tracked minutely.India has taken a progressive stand on the negotiations and we all support it firmly back here!and the we also hope to see an equally cooperative response from the others and we are still expectant of positives from the upcoming Copenhagen Summit

to Mr. Ghosh: the challenge lies in that we are not listening and neither are they. what will it take to get the messages across? How about putting on the table what we are doing for starters, and going from there? then, you look at your children and your grand children (and this goes for both sides) and you ask yourself genuinely whether what you are doing is even remotely enough. the answer should be obvious--no. Because quite frankly, we have to redefine development quite radically to save future generations. the question is who will out do whom in order to build this new world order?

Great going!
But as the time ticks down to december, things don't seem to be in great shape come Copenhagen summit. :(

I am definitely listening Mr. Ghosh and Mr. Dasgupta, and I am sure many more like me are listening too!

Well.. victory of good over evil or not, our negotiators (Dasgupta, Ghosh et al) certainly have their heart in the right place. Lets hope Pershing and his ilk listen to the voice of reason and take positive strides ahead instead of engaging in jugglery with recondite jargon and distracting attention all the time. Time for some *real* action on the part of Uncle Sam and its representatives.

NICE! Let poor Mr Ghosh know that we are all behind him, and behind ANYONE who will work sincerely towards a COMPREHENSIVE, and PROGRESSIVE solution.

The reason our "Leaders" are there is because we have asked them to LEAD us. Their job (all of them) is to forge ahead, and LEAD their supporters, and the people they represent, towards a healthy future. There is nothing in their job profile that says they must appeal to the lowest common denominator! There job is not to make everyone happy, it's to LEAD. So, dear leaders, please, take your positions, and GO FOR THE FUTURE!!!!

And if you happen to get the phone number of our "Ravana", I would like to call him.

Thanks for sharing this. I think it is shameful how the US is behaving in general. They and the rest of the "developed" countries have really caused this problem; they should be coming to us, hat in hand, offering apologies and real assistance. But I'm not too optimistic about the prospects of that.
