It is not just looking for inspirational pictures online and just buying everything you see off from a home decor magazine. Of course, looking through pictures may be the perfect start but there are many tough decisions ahead to make.

If you did not, then you should start going through the styles that you feel you would like to see every day. Would you rather go for something modern or would you go straight for something traditional that never goes out of style?   

1. Traditional Style 

If you would love to give your place a sober up look, then going for a traditional interior design style may be a wise choice. Before you start, you should know that this style is not cheap, so you should count with a big budget in order to get all those antique furniture and decorations. Using the eighteenth and nineteenth century as an inspiration, you should seek for classic furniture such as dark wood tables and chairs. Remember that floral, stripes and plaids were very popular patterns back then, so try to find a way to combine them inside your home! 

2. Transitional Style 

You love the elegance that traditional furniture brings to your house but do not want to feel left out from the contemporary world we live in, like you were born in a completely different era. Mixing the best of both worlds is possible and transitional interior design style has proved that. It combines these two opposite styles to bring you a very unique tone to your home, using little to no accessories and letting furniture and textiles take the lead. It will look sophisticated as traditional style does, but much flexible and relaxed.  

3. Modern Style  

Modern may have tons of elements pretty similar to the ones used in the transitional style, but you should keep in mind that modern designs developed during the twentieth century, which is way more contemporary than the transitional style. For example, the furniture in a mid-century modern style will probably use neutral coloring which will highlight the colorful art hanging up on our walls. Once again, the décor is almost nonexistent, and it will look simpler and cleaner than any other style. 

Your house is a huge part of your life, hence why it is so important that you feel represented on how it looks both inside and out. If you feel comfortable surrounded by traditional furniture and floral patterns, do not try to force a modern design on your place if it does not feel right! Keep in mind that the style you decide on must feel like it was created for you and only you.

3. UI 

Are you familiar with the term UI? UI stands for User Interface, which basically translates to users experience inside an application or device. UI designers work along with UX (which are the ones in charge of upgrading user’s experience) in order to find out which design will be better for the users in terms of visual and on-screen elements such as menus and buttons that are display inside an app. These one’s such an important graphic designer’s task, since mobile apps should be accessible for everyone which intends to use it. 

4. Packaging 

 A lot of brands sell their products and needs packaging in order to distribute them. A packaging design could say many things about a brand’s identify, hence why it is so important for brands to develop one which is attractive to their customers. The designers in charge of packaging designs must be familiar with many things such as manufacturing and industrial design as they will have to come up with print-ready files for the product to be distributed around the country or even the whole world. 

5. Motion 

Motion graphic designers are those who create those amazing animations we love to see in videogames and movies. The technology used for this specific graphic design is very popular but very expensive too, hence why it is only used in TV and films. Not everyone can afford to have these graphics on their products or platforms! Of course, these designers may have previous knowledge of marketing and visual identity too before creating these graphics.
