Sébastien (France), Clancy (Australia) and I did a quick video update on status the UN Climate Talks today for those of you without a long enough attention span to read ENB. Here’s the gist:
Work on drafting negotiating text continues, with a number of working group chairs reporting progress toward having something to deliver for Durban. Finance emerges as a problem area, as many developing countries demand progress on identifying sources of long-term finance and developed countries refuse. In the face of difficulties identifying public sources for finance, TckTckTck partners like Oxfam are leading the charge for innovative sources like international shipping fuel levees.
