If you liked the talk, and want to let us know what you thought, or have a burning question you want answered, you can tweet your questions to @adoptnegotiator @chriswright162 or @aya_chebbi and #ClimateTracker

Our first Climate Tracker training of 2014 spoke directly to the enormous scale of the climate challenge and to our Climate Trackers’ primary tool.

Aya Chebbi became a world renowned blogger during the Tunisian Revolution, where she was leading voice of the people’s revolution for democratic change. In this session, we tap into Aya’s experience, to see how we too can inspire revolutionary local and global climate action in our own writing.

Aya was be joined by veteran tracker Chris Wright, who might be the most innovative Negotiator Tracker to have come through the Adopt a Negotiator program. While Chris is still working on building a climate revolution in the UN climate negotiations, his ability to engage negotiators and netizens alike is unquestioned.

Together these two bloggers shared an intimate and uncensored conversation on the lessons they’ve learned as bloggers, and how your efforts as climate change activists and communicators can drive a revolution in climate action.

Check back on this page for our a Broadcast of our Google Hangout at 11:00 UTC (12:00 Tunisian Time) on the 29th of July.

We hope you enjoy the discussion. If you couldn’t join us live, we would still love to hear from you, so get tweeting, and lets keep the conversation going.

Hello from Madagascar everyone! I’ve got some problem to see the video, there’s a bit problem with the internet connection.
But I want to ask what are the efficient strategies to engage people within facebook, twitter and social media in the country where the freedom of speech is very limited? What key words or king of speech Aya had used to engage many people?

You should be able to watch the video above. Google Hangouts ‘automagically’ get transformed into youtube videos. Should be as simple as pressing play, as soon as it’s processed.

I’m an activist for social change, youth empowerment and sustainable development. Companies manufacturing plastic bags are very numerous in Madagascar. Moreover, the use of plastic bags, and plastic products is an integral part of everyday life. During training on sustainable development, our movement organized in early July, we realized that changing this practice is very difficult. Our whole life revolves around plastic, without realizing that the city environment is deteriorating day by day. So, how to raise the citizens’ awareness to change their habit? or at minimum, reduce using plastic products?

  • Asha Sitati

    Following now..thanks! :-)

Many argue that at the core of the Arab Spring was food insecurity, triggered by the global food crisis in 2010-2011, which is highly highly interlinked to our current climate crisis. If one hasn’t studied environmental science or a related subject, it’s hard to see the connection right away but I promise it’s all connected.
