China Tracker - Amily Yang
Amily Yang, a 20-year-old, junior majored in International Economic Law, Law School, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, China. Her interest is seeking diverse experiences and spreading out meaningful stories. She joined China Youth Delegation for COP15, as Media team member. During her interaction with youth in China, she realized, in order to rise concern about climate change effectively, great significance should be attached to the spread of fundamental knowledge to the public.
Thus, she went to great lengths to launch the “Our voices” picture story campaign in China, enabling normal people to speak out their opinions, questions and doubts concerning climate change.
Her objectives of getting involved in this project pushed herself to understand the topic deeper and more systemic, spread her understanding and basic knowledge to peers, enhancing her global perspectives to the national decision made by the Chinese delegates.

Cheng Guan, 24 -year -old graduate student majoring in Global Environmental Politics. She is fascinated about climate negotiation when studying in Washington D.C and especially put her attention on the issues around financial mechanism. She had ever worked for China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection in Beijing, United Nations Headquarters in New York and a Sri Lanka NGO in Colombo. She audited Summit on Climate Change in 2009 when doing an assessment on UN business partnerships’ function in addressing climate change in NYC.
She expects to track the negotiation process in Tianjin and provides rational analysis as an insider. Tianjin is the last round negotiation before Cancun as well as the last chance to narrow down the topic, so she is eager to join the tracker team at this point to push it to be more fruitful. She will also work with One Climate to open dialogues between the world and China in climate issues.
